Pamela M. Hardin was born and raised in Columbia, Mo. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. where she majored in Fashion Design and Merchandising and minored in Business Administration. Pam attended Central Missouri State University, majoring in Business Administration. Pamela is a Master Barber & Stylist and owned A Touch of Elegance Beauty and Barber Salon. Pamela currently is a part-time Water Aerobic Instructor with a 16 year tenure with the city of Columbia.
Pam is a mother and a wife, she is married to Minister Martin Hardin, they have 2 children, Donte' Hardin and Kandis Hardin- James and one son- in- law Travis James. Pam is a grandmother of four, A'Lonii, Latrina, and twins Chaunte' and Davionte' Hardin. She is also the surrogate grandmother to 6 other children.
Pam is a lifeling member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, Mo. where she accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 7. She was a Sunbeam, Red Circle, Seeker, and in 1980 won the Mt. Carmel District Association Oratorical Contest and placed 2nd in the State. She sang in the youth choir and was the musician for 2nd Baptist Church Columbia, Youth Choir before leaving for college.
Pam attended annually the Mt. Carmel District Assiciation, the Missouri State Convention, and also attended the National Baptist Convention participating in the Youth Choir. She was a Jr. Matron & served as Jr. Matron Counselor for Mt. Carmel for four(4) years.
Pam remains a faithful member of her church, a active member of the Women's Missionary Union ( WMU), Sara Brown Circle, serving as past Asst. Youth Director for 2nd Bapt. Church, Columbia, WMU.
Pam is currently serving as Superintendent of Sunday School at 2nd Bapt. Church and Past President of Mt. Carmel District Association, 2 separate terms.
God has blessed Pam with many talents and alot of energy. Pamela believes in church and community service, she is the 1st Vice President of the Columbia Branch NAACP, she attends State and National meetings and Conventions and helps plan successful Voter Registration Campaigns. She received the NAACP ROY WILKINS AWARD for Outstanding Community Service. Pam has also served as the past NAACP State Youth Director for 8 years. Pam was elected, and is currently serving as the Mo. State NAACP 1st Vice President.
Pamela was selected by the Mayor to serve on the Columbia, Mo. Mayor's Task Force on Community Violence in 2013, and in 2019 Pamela was selected by the Columbia, Mo. Police Chief, to serve on the Columbia Police Chief's Vehicle Stops Committee to address racial disparities in driving while black. Pamela is currently still serving on that committee as Co-Chair.
Pamela has a great love for children and has a special touch for youth in need of extra love and attention. Pamela values good leadership and is very dedicated to whatever tadk she is assigned, always remembering the biblical verse, "I can do all things thru Christ who Strengthens Me."
