Kai Sutton is known for her leadership and advocacy work in reproductive justice, domestic violence awareness, and being a voice for the voiceless.
As the President of the Springfield NAACP, she has been instrumental in promoting voter engagement and education, business opportunities, honoring local black excellence and healthcare access.
In addition to her role as President of the local NAACP chapter in Springfield, Kai is a Notary, and she serves on a number of boards such as Harmony House and Missouri Womens Political Caucus to name a few.
Her journey to this role was marked by personal challenges, including relocating to escape an abusive relationship and facing the aftermath of the Joplin tornado. Despite these hardships, Sutton has used her experiences to fuel positive change and support others facing similar struggles.
Her initiatives include organizing the Stand Up & Speak Out walk to honor domestic violence victims and creating empowerment conferences for young girls and women.
Recognized for her community service and activism, Sutton's story is a testament to resilience and dedication to social justice.
Kai is a resilient single mother of 5 children and desires to leave a legacy of perseverance, adventure, empowerment and love through her actions.
